The engine produces 65 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 105 lb-ft of torque at 2,200 rpm. It was used extensively in military vehicles such as the WWII Willys MB and Ford GPW, as well as the M38A1 Jeep and the M170 ambulance variant. The engine is known for its durability and reliability, with many examples still in use today in off-road and military vehicle restoration projects.
